Limerick Printmakers Studio & Gallery are delighted to announce the opening of our next exhibition ‘Limerick/Berlin: Documenting The Urban Landscape’ on Thursday the 26th September at 8pm.
Limerick Printmakers are honoured that Mr Harald Seibel of the Cultural Affairs Department of the German Embassy will introduce this exhibition. Limerick Councillor Tom Shortt will also be in attendance.
This exhibition features a selection of etchings, lithographs, silkscreen prints, woodcuts, linocuts, monoprints and digital prints from the members of Druckwerkstatt im Kulturwerk des bbk Berlin GmbH. This highly respected German facility contains printmaking and sculpture workshops alongside artist’s studios.
ietrich Blodau, a well-known Limerick based artist & art tutor has been instrumental in bringing this exciting exchange into reality. This exhibition will mark the second element of a cultural exchange between Limerick Printmakers & Druckwerkstatt im Kulturwerk des bbk Berlin GmbH. In 2012 members of Limerick Printmakers travelled to Berlin to exhibit their work.
he Berlin based artists selected for inclusion in this exhibition are David Antonides, Stefan Becker, Peter Blodau, Ariane Boss, Martin Dammann, Jochen Detscher, Boukla Eirini, Volker Führer, G.L. Gabriel, Vincenzo Grosso, Thomas Hartmann, Frank Hartung, Philipp Hennevogl, Hiroko Inoue, Magda Korsinsky, Karsten Kusch, Jens Lorenzen, Peter Moller, Gwenael Rattke, Uta Richter, Thomas Richter Eigenhufe, Cameron Rudd, Hella Santarossa, Emma Troxler, Klaus-Peter Vellguth, Fritzi Zimmer, Sasha Zivkovic.
The need to build strong relationships and cultural connections between international printmaking studios has never been greater and Limerick Printmakers is proud to showcase the excellent work being produced by the members of Druckwerkstatt im Kulturwerk des bbk Berlin GmbH.
